Greetings and welcome to my blog! This is where I comment on various issues mostly focused on my interests in horses, living history, reenactment, firearms (mostly the old stuff up to WWII), wargaming, miniatures painting, history in general, and anything else I feel like posting. I'm especially interested in the history and heritage of the US horse soldier and the First World War in general.

I'm unfamiliar with the history you are doing...soooo....are you playing with lances?
Sorry to be vague on the details- this was a Napoleonic reenactment set in Spain, circa 1808-13 which basically allows us to use Soutehrn California as a stand-in.
My impression is a bit improvised but basically I'm portrying a Spanish guerilla and they used a lot of archaic weapons (plus the bamboo lance was cheap and easy to put together).
It's a lot of fun and for some reason, I found it more fun to use a lance than a sword. :-)
